I've just been reading Care of the Soul. The author says that everything, not just humans or what we call conscious beings, has soul. Thus this lovely. old tree has a great deal of soul. It shades a porch and a street, giving coolness in summer. And it has color in the fall and starkness in the winter. And the history it knows! It speaks to us through its form and activity, and we would do well to listen to it.

This kind of bleeding light is often used by painters. What a gift - to have an impressionist camera!
